I just observed an interesting trait about myself — I’m reluctant to watch online video unless it’s something short, entertaining, and I have time for it. I was just reading a blog which had a link to another blog about something relevant to the blog post. When I clicked the link, I saw it was a video blog and instantly closed the window without watching. When I self-analysed why I behaved in this way, I realised that when I’m reading blogs, somehow I don’t have the patience for watching videos. I want to be able to skip and skim, and listening to someone talk requires too much attention and is too slow. Maybe it’s just my ADD playing up again, but I don’t think video blogging has much of a future.
