TwitterVision: Worse than TV
Google teamed up with TwitterVision to present live coverage of “Super Tuesday”. For those who don’t know, Twitter describes itself as “live blogging” but it’s really just instant messaging where, instead of having a private conversation with a few people, you spam the entire world with your inanities.
So this breakthrough Web 2.0 TwitterVision technology presents a Google Maps map and little speech bubbles pop up when someone somewhere twitters something. On Google’s Super Tuesday site, this was displayed beside election results. I observed such edifying thoughts as:
come on obama, WIN california. come on california!
and
This election is so exciting!
and
MN loves Obama! Huzzah! Obama forever!
I think I’d rather watch TV.
