		<description>I've had the same magazine experience you describe.  Not too long ago I had subscriptions to at least a dozen magazines and now that list is down to about 3 or 4.  I have 200+ RSS feeds coming my way every day and I feel like I not only don't miss the magazines, but I'm actually learning about new developments much faster than I ever have before.

Here in the UK, most publishers assume that their natural competitor is the one sitting next to them on the newsstand.Yet all around them, communities and influential bloggers are springing up next to them on the web. And yet they don't notice - which is more about the mindset of senior managers than the avilability of market intelligence...</description>
