Published papers

  1. Quality Infomediation in Search Markets (2008). With John Kennes. International Journal of Industrial Organization, forthcoming. We examine the effects of third-party provision of information (’infomediaries’) about seller qualities in a search market with asymmetric information. Examples include tourist guidebooks, online product review sites, and reputational mechanisms.
  2. The ‘Waterbed’ Effect and Regulation (2008). Review of Network Economics, forthcoming. I examine the conditions under which regulation of one of the prices charged by a multiproduct firm causes it to increase one or more of its other prices. Regulation of termination charges in mobile telecommunications is an example of such a situation.
