Insomnia 2.0
Back when I was younger and I couldn’t fall asleep, I used to read books and it worked pretty well.
Tonight I couldn’t sleep so I tried reading blogs and it was a disaster, I’m even more awake than before. Blogs make you think too much.

The problem is that blog reading is explosive — each post has multiple links to follow, which generates ideas and surprises with each click.
With a book you can peek ahead and see what is coming so it is much easier to put it down.
I think that there’s some value to the blogs that you choose to read. A good number of blogs would put you to sleep pretty quickly too.
I tried website years ago, but they have the problem John Whitehead describes: to much links to follow, to much information to proces. I have never tried blogs, but can imagine they have an even bigger impact.
What does help is Ulysses by James Joyce next to my bed. Although this might be blasphemy for some ;-)
