Sounds like little more than rent-seeking behavior to me.

Curt: Sorry you had trouble with the captcha. I've noticed that they're a little slow sometimes and I might change to a different method. As you can see all your comments did actually show up in the end.

It's too difficult for me to say whether MS-Yahoo will increase or decrease competition (I didn't actually say that it will hurt consumers, only that it could). As you said if there are strong synergies then good things can happen.

I guess you really don't want an intelligent comment, or else you'd get captchas that work.

http://www.texttechnologies.com/2008/02/03/microsoft-yahoo-synergies/ says you're wrong, and I'm getting terser each time you erase my comment on a repost.

Crumb! Your captcha ate my comment!

http://www.texttechnologies.com/2008/02/03/microsoft-yahoo-synergies/ says the deal could spur innovation big time, not hurt it, and I'm sorry for the crude wording on the rewrite, but you should fix your blog software if you don't like it.

Actually, as outlined in http://www.texttechnologies.com/2008/02/03/microsoft-yahoo-synergies/ , the deal could herald a strong INCREASE in innovation.
