200 economics blogs
My directory and ranking of economics blogs has now hit 200, thanks to a few new blogs that I found via The Bayseian Heresy’s Economics Blog Awards 2008. Is there no limit to the econ blogosphere’s growth?
Perhaps I should do a few awards of my own. Based on the ranking, the award for biggest improvement goes to Paul Krugman, who came from nowhere to rank 5th in a matter of months. The award for most consistent is jointly shared by Freakonomics, Marginal Revolution and Greg Mankiw, who’ve continuously occupied the top three slots. Most specialised niche newcomer goes to North Korean Economy Watch. Most shameless hype goes to Economics in the News, which calls itself “Britains’ (sic) most popular economics blog”, yet has consistently ranked near the very bottom of all econ blogs. And the award for most shameless whining about not being given awards goes to Environmental Economics, just in case they complain about being left out of these awards.

I was noticeably absent from the list.
Everyday Economist: Thanks for letting me know about your blog. I’ve added it to the list.
Two noticeable omissions (or I have overlooked):
ftalphaville and AVC blog.
Sam: Thanks, I have added alphaville. AVC blog is avcblog.com? It doesn’t quite look like an econ blog to me …
